On Saturday the 22nd of may 2006 Chester Le Street ARC held a 1000metre and 500metre Regatta on the river wear. Over 80 races were staged over the 1000m set course on the CLS Clb House sid and on the Lumley Woods side; Several were staged over 500m set course for the junior crews J12 - J14.

Chester Le Street District Council Chairman Allen Tuner presented tankards to 40 event winners and trophies to eighty victorious crew.

The silverware included two dusted down trophies dating from the event's hay day in the late victorian era.

Andrew Bryant said the feedback from those taking part and spectators was extremely good.
